Dear Amy,Never give up! I’m 57 yrs.In 2005 I got in some trouble and ended up getting 1,000 fine and 100 hours community service. I did my hours at Goodwill Industry. nonprofit org. They have all kinds of program for exoffenders. I don’t know about ure state but it’s worth checking out. Been there five yrs. now and we have had sooooo many success stories. Try checking Goodwill Industries.Org/ (name of ure town). I’m in San Antonio, Tx. Good Luck.Teresa

Amy, thank you for your visit and comment. Getting down on yourself is not going to help your felon career search. Furthering your education can be a great step in the right direction to a good career. Be sure that the field you choose to study is one that is and will be in demand after you graduate. Technical schools such as ITT Tech can open many doors when looking for felon friendly jobs. You can get free information on potential careers that are offered at ITT Tech here on the site but also be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook as we frequently announce new tools and specific job opportunities for felons.

Well I`m not sure if this is the rite to put here . Well I have had a felony convition years ago all most 22 years ago an have not been in a problem since but yet this felony is just like if it just happen most of all my doors are closed in the job industry and its very fustrating. I do not know how people expect to live or provide for a family if
they are always judged on what they did in the passed. I have a family and since I have been released from my incarcerated i also been a paying taxpayer for the last 22 years but yet i am still beening judged.

Ricardo, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment as this is a good place to vent if you feel the need. It is sad but we hear stories very similar to yours everyday and it can be a violent cycle to get caught up in. Seeing that your conviction was over 22 years ago, have you looked into expungement. Depending on the charge and the state in which you live, expungement may be an option. Be sure to sign up for the Free Report on the Top 10 Jobs for Felons and we can also send you information on any job openings for felons that we are frequently updated with.

Recardo I agree with! you’re 100% RIGHT & TRUE!! I have a felony record and it is also 22+ years old, Its a BIG PROBLEM finding employement! Very Fustrating is the word…I have been arrest free since my day of arrest. that was my first ofense, people have to start giving a SECOND CHANCE to proove them right and dont judge them of their pass. Pardons is a good way but when they deny you, you aint got a chance to proove to society.

Wow I think this site is awesome, I have been helping my brother try to find employment, because of his record it is very hard. I firmly belive everyone needs a second chance and not everyone has to be labeled BAD.he made a mistake did his time and trying to better himself but doors just keep closing. How is anyone suppose to better themselves if your quick to judge and not give any chances.Good luck to all of you out there, I pray someone will give you a chance.Never give up GOD shows up when you think there is nowhere left to go.GOOD LUCK TO ALL Let me know of any jobs in the Houston area. Thanks

i think your site is great. i am a 4x felon who is having a real hard time finding another job. i find that some of the info you offer is very helpful. i do want to know however if you know of any programs to help a felon get funding to start up a business. my other half is a mechanic and she would like to start her own mobile automotive service company here in vegas. i of course want to help her out and would like some input on what to do and who to talk to. thanks so much

Georgia, thank you for your stopping by and leaving a comment. Funding to start up a business is very difficult to come by these days for anyone, not just ex felons. If you are approved for a start up business loan you can expect to receive a really high interest rate as well. We offer more specifics on loans on this page, just click here…Loans for Felons. We wish you the best and hope you are able to find the financing you need.

I am a 2x convicted felon, with my last conviction back in May ’04. I am actively seeking employment to better my life, however, when I try to navigate thru your web-site, Ifind lots of tips and tricks to find employment, but no listed employers outside of a few trucking companies and some nursing. Can you direct me to a more helpfull list of employers in southern Georgia that are willing to give an ex-con a second chance at a good and honest life?

I have a very good friend who made a bad choice one evening and was arrested and charged with 1.Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon and 2. Improper Exhibition of Dangerous Weapon. They dropped #2 chg, but filed on #1. She just graduated from LPN Course in FL. Her next court appearance is for a Status Conference, so she has not been to trial yet. Her Attorney is trying to get her placed into a Pretrial Intervention Program also known as PTI, so that if she completes it there will be no charges on her record. My question is twofold, 1. will she be able to take her state licensing test for nursing and 2. will someone hire her while she is going through this PTI period?
Hopefully someone can share some input here.
Thank u 4 reading this, John
